The Gospel of Luke | Something New – Luke 5:33-39

Pastor Steve Heron continues our Luke series, Jesus: The Savior of the World, and preaches from Luke 5:33-39.

If Jesus can be criticized for feasting with the sinners, he can also be criticized for refusing to follow the religious practices of his day. Fasting demonstrates a dependence on God like nothing else, but Jesus shows us that there are times when fasting is inappropriate. Using several illustrations, Jesus shows that something altogether new is happening when he comes into our lives which requires entirely new ways of thinking.
