Luke has recounted Jesus’s power over demons and sickness, but there was nothing so feared and shameful as leprosy. It was a death sentence that moved its victims to the margins of society. In an emotional dialogue between Jesus and a leper, we discover that Jesus is not only able to heal but willing to heal.
