Leadership in the church is not a matter of status, personality, or influence, but of faithful service under the authority of Christ. In 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13, Paul calls the church to recognize and esteem those who labor among them, care for them, and admonish them in the Lord. These verses remind us that healthy church leadership carries both weighty responsibilities and necessary accountability, while calling the congregation to respond with love, respect, and peace. Together, leaders and members share the responsibility of building a church that honors Christ as its head.
