Training the Twelve | The Transfiguration – Luke 9:28-36

A little over a week after telling his disciples that he is headed to the cross, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up the mountain to pray. In a flash, the disciples are confronted with the brilliant glory of the Son of Man and two symbols of the law and prophets. As the disciples try to grapple with what they’re experiencing, a voice booms from heaven reminding them it’s not what they’re seeing that’s most important but what Jesus has been saying. So then, how well are we listening to Jesus?
