Philippians | God at Work – Philippians 2:12-18

Paul’s previous ‘Christ hymn” extolling the mystery of the kenosis tempts many of us to stop and meditate on the wonder of the incarnation. Paul, however, immediately reminds us of the practical implications of such a doctrine. He urges the Philippians to consider their own obedience and calls them to work out their salvation in a crooked and twisted generation. We will see that our commitment to the sanctification journey with others gives us hope for our future and our culture as we hold fast to the word of Christ.
