Fellow Workers for the Truth

In last week's message, Pastor Steve Heron challenged our congregation to both give to and go on mission. We are all on mission where God has planted us - for there are places each of us can take the gospel to that our pastors and staff can't. Whether that is in our backyards, at our workplaces or on maybe on an overseas trip, God has called us all to be "fellow workers" in the gospel. However, God has also called us to support those who have gone out on mission to the world full-time. 3 John 1:7-8 says, "For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth."

With that in mind, we thought it would be helpful to share more about the missionaries who have gone out from our church into the world, both locally or abroad, so you can both pray for them as well as consider supporting them in their missionary efforts.

Local Missionaries
Each person or ministry represented is reaching out to a specific group of people in Charleston - students, pregnant women, young professionals - for the sake of the gospel.

 - Brodie & Katie Hart - Apartment Life
 - Brandon & Ansley Hammond, Beth Jarrell - Cru
 - Joshua & Marilyn Austin, Jessica Moon - BCM
 - Ben Crocker - Young Life
 - Brittany Gordon - Charleston Southern

We also support the Lowcountry Pregnancy Center, Peninsula Biblical Counseling Center and outreach efforts at Burke High School.

Stateside Missionaries
In addition to missionaries local to Charleston, we also support others who are doing mission work stateside.

 - Ellen McGaha - Campus Outreach

International Missionaries
We also have the pleasure of sending out several missionaries overseas to serve in various ways. We also support students and others on short-term trips with organizations like MCO, Campus Outreach, BCM and Cru.

 - The R Family - Working with African Refugees in Europe (Permanent)
 - Bethany T - Teaching in Ethiopia (Permanent)
 - Noemi Pagan - Training Leaders in North Africa (Ongoing)

Our hope for Citadel Square is that we will continue to have people sent out for the sake of the name of Jesus both across the street and across the globe. Would you consider today how God is calling you to serve - either by supporting missionaries like these or by going yourself?
